THE RETREAT
We spend most of our lives at the surface — skimming across sensation, thought, motion. This retreat is a descent. Into the body. Into the breath. Into the particular intelligence that lives below the thinking mind.
Set on Gili Meno — one of Indonesia's smallest and quietest atolls, car-free and unhurried — we spend five days learning to inhabit ourselves more fully. The sea is our teacher. The breath is our practice. The body is the whole curriculum.
Kike Benet, who built the maoMeno retreat center on this island, brings fifteen years of Embodied Flow™ practice together with his ongoing research into movement through water. This retreat exists at the intersection of those two inquiries.

THE PRACTICES
How we move
through five days
MORNING - DAILY
Kriyas, meditation & asana
Each day opens with breathwork and movement. Kike's Embodied Flow™ practice draws from hatha, tantric and somatic movement traditions — not to perform yoga, but to experience it as a living art form.
AFTERNOON · OPT-IN
Restorative practices
Slow afternoons will offer a chance to dive deeper into your inner landscapes through restorative yoga sessions, YIN and ocean time.
SEA · DAILY
Movement through water
The ocean is not a backdrop — it is practice space. We move through it slowly, attentively, noticing how saltwater changes the quality of breath and sensation. Drawing from Kike's ongoing research into aquatic somatic movement.
EVENING · DAILY
Fire gatherings & integration
Evenings are slow. We gather, we share, we let the day settle. Fire ceremonies, stargazing on the beach, and space for the body to integrate what it has learned. No agenda, no performance — just presence with the group.
"Every moment, every breath, is an opportunity for awakening." — Kike Benet
SAMPLE ITINERARY
A day on
Gili Meno
This is a guide, not a schedule. The rhythm adjusts to the group, the tides, and the moment.
7
Morning practice
Pranayama, kriya and Embodied Flow™ asana led by Kike. Practice happens in the open-air shala as the island wakes. Two hours of unhurried movement and breath.
9
Breakfast
Plant-based, high-nutrient meals prepared at maoMeno. Organic ingredients sourced locally where possible. Eat slowly. Taste things.
10
Sea session
Into the water. Guided movement practice in the shallows and reef. Breathwork continues here — buoyancy, resistance, and salt do things a studio cannot. Optional freediving sessions with a certified guide.
13
Lunch & rest
Long lunches. Hammocks. Silence. The island has its own pace and it is slow. This time is yours.
16
Workshop or free time
Alternating afternoons. Workshops explore cellular breathing theory, somatic awareness and the philosophy of Embodied Flow™. Free afternoons: snorkel, walk the island perimeter in 45 minutes, read, sleep.
19
Fire gathering
Dinner together. Then the fire, the stars, and whatever wants to be said. Some nights: ceremony. Some nights: music. Every night: the sound of the sea.

FACILITATOR

Kike Benet
HUMANIST · FOUNDER OF ONE KIND BEING & MAOMENO
Trained in the Anusara method, since 2012 Kike has been diving deep into the maps of Kashmir Shaivism — applying these ancient tools to modern life and movement.
His classes are inspired by Embodied Flow™, a continuum of movement and expression drawing from hatha, tantric and somatic traditions — to experience yoga as a living art form rather than a performance.
Based on Waiheke Island, Kike founded One Kind Being as a platform for journeys of intimacy with nature, where inner insights meet outdoor experience — across the Southern Alps, Waiheke coastlines and hidden hot springs in the wild.

THE PLACE
maoMeno
Cili Meno, Indonesia
Gili Meno is the smallest and quietest of the three Gili Islands — no cars, no motorbikes, no rush. It takes forty-five minutes to walk the whole island. The reef is extraordinary. At night, the only sounds are insects and the sea.
maoMeno is Kike's retreat center — a space he spent years building as a place for peace, art and inner discovery. Open-air shalas, simple and beautiful accommodation, plant-based kitchen. It is not a hotel. It is a practice space that happens to have beds.
Getting here: fly to Lombok (LOP) or Bali (DPS), then a fast boat to Gili Meno (approx. 2 hours from Bali, 30 minutes from Lombok). We can provide full logistics guidance when you register.
